MY SPIRITUAL BIOGRAPHY

It was my mother who came to know the LORD first in our family through a television evangelism program that led her later to fall on her knees and pray the sinner’s prayer. As she has constantly shared God's Word to us, however, I merely dismissed her new-found faith as all emotionalism and hype…not until the LORD Himself worked through my life.

I consider my first encounter with the LORD Jesus Christ to be in June 1988 during a worship service at the Christian Life Fellowship, Magallanes Theater, Magallanes Village, Makati City through the invitation of a Christian lady friend who happened to be my love interest back in High School.

As soon as I stepped toward the church aisle to receive Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior, I knew deep in my heart that it was to become the start of a new phase in life.

Active as I was in school, I started joining many Christian growth classes in Church or through other Christian organizations. As I started maturing in my faith in God (i.e. one that was founded only on the primacy of Scriptures through Jesus Christ and His grace), I started learning the many facets to God’s Word- growing in the grace and knowledge of God.

God constantly exposed me to various situations of character-transformation- that is, my perception on many areas of life such as:
*That I should not think of myself more highly than I ought to, but to be sober in judgment in accordance to the measure of faith that the LORD has given me (Romans 12:3)
*That in humility, I should consider others better than myself (Philippians 2:3)
*That the LORD’s eyes range to and fro throughout the earth seeking those whose hearts are fully committed to Him (2Chronicles 16:9)
*That in everything I do, whether in eating or drinking, I should do it all for God's glory (1Corinthians 10:31)
*That God shall judge every careless word I say (Matthew 12:36)

These were among the so many learnings I gained as I started to read and meditate on Scripture.

Through the years, I realized that what actually pleases God the most is not so much of what we have done before Him- accomplishments, that is- but, how our hearts were molded as we came to know Him and are conformed into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.

To this day, this is what I strive and yearn to achieve-to please the LORD in every way. Hopefully, by doing this, I am able to bless others, and ultimately, bless God- the One who has called me, and the One to whom I offer my all in all in life.
